Rubinart is the original Red Dragon, and the most powerful of Chaos Descendants. Born thousands of years ago, Rubinart is likely the oldest Dragon as well.
A curious entity with a liking for art, Rubinart claims to have given culture to humans long ago and helped Lunascent progress. Rubinart sacrificed his powers to close the Monolith, with half of his jewel given to King Feder.
Profile[]
Rubinart has expressed the desire to live a peaceful and comfortable life, and is a very practical problem solver, usually favoring whatever takes less effort or can solve the issue in the shortest amount of time. He seems at first to have a very carefree, non-threatening personality, and has shown affection towards other people and creatures. However, he often has desires to kill and destroy, especially when he is getting excited, and he doesn't hesitate to express this feeling in front of others. Despite this, Rubinart has stayed non-threatening for most of his life with only one major attack in Lunascent, in a tragic event known as The Night of Flames. The only times he has been known to kill outside his bursts of anger were during the invasions to his own homeland Ayrn Island, in which he found himself with no choice but to retaliate.
Despite how confident and showy he appears to be, Rubinart tends to instantly lose all confidence when things don't go as he expected, usually resorting to whining, crying or screaming. He easily gets embarrassed in front of people he holds dear, particularly Iona and Meriendel, and is so protective he has expressed desire to kill those who offend his friends. Towards women, Rubinart is very chivalrous and tends to favor them, getting angry at himself when he feels he has mistreated them. This even includes Argenta despite being aware of her condition as a Dragon. He remained supportive of Meriendel despite his one-sided love for her.
Rubinart seems to have been born with a natural talent for arts and crafts. Based on the opinion of other characters, he seems to be particularly good at painting and writing. It has also been shown that he is a skilled wardrobe stylist and make-up artist.
Rubinart in Mistland[]
Having split his jewel in half, the other half of his jewel was reborn as another Rubinart with a total different personality from Rubinart in Lagendia. Rubinart left all his unnecessary emotions in the jewel of Rubinart in Lagendia to adapt well in Mistland. While in Mistland, Rubinart have been researching in all kind of relics in Mistland. He also lends a hand to the Anti-Goddess Faction. While he was on the run from Tryan, the corruption in his body worsen. In order to protect Rubinart from being spotted by Goddess Vestinel and the Army of Destruction, Kid Geraint set up a Nest at Black Lake. While they were there, Norfe have been visiting them at Black Lake to check on Rubinart's condition.
Rubinart's corruption can no longer suppress by his own willpower, Norfe have no other choice but to go against his master's wish to use the safe house at the Red Waste. When Player and the rest chase after Rubinart at the Red Waste, Vestinel's Oracle appears and restore the link of Beyond Dragon inside Rubinart and take him away.
While at Chiron Island's Ancient City to search for the map of Mistland left behind by a Hybrid Cartographer. Rubinart appear to stop General Jade from trying to hunt Grele's jewel and lectured him about going against the Empire's rules for hunting Child's jewel at another Child General's Territory. According to Grele, Rubinart seem to remember them.
Rubinart appears after Player brought General Jade down to his knees at the Gust Dragon Nest. Rubinart killed Jade and took his jewel. He then proceeds to use Vestinel's power to awaken Shalica as a Child. Completely succumb under Goddess Vestinel's command, Rubinart tries to attack Player but was intervene by Ultima. Rubinart was taken aback at the sight of Ultima and subconsciously call him "Feder". Player and Ultima later witness Rubinart attacked the Blue Raven Territory and killed Mukheun in the process. He is also responsible for the attack at Aergal Kingdom.
Corrupted Rubinart is now known as the "Red Child" whom both Princess Sylvannia and Ultima wants to seek revenge with for destroying their homelands and killed their loved ones. Player had been holding out hope that the Cup of Healing could heal Rubinart and go to Hafling together as per their promise to Iona.
Meeting Vandar[]
Rubinart met Vandar at the Monolith when he almost died due to the mysterious curse in his body. Rubinart invest some of his power to Vandar and brought him back to Red Lotus Palace. He met Vandar briefly at the Red Lotus Palace Garden before heading off somewhere.
When Vandar learnt more about Rubinart from Vernicka and Commander Hwaran, Rubinart doesn’t seem to be on good terms with the Child Commanders.

- Rubinart wears a Chuba, a traditional piece of clothing from Tibet.
- Despite this, the Rubinart costume set for the Player characters is based on the Hanfu and the Tangzhuang worn typically by the Han ethnicy of China and not by the Tibetan people.
- Rubinart's name means Red Camellia.
- In the timeline where Rubinart met Vandar at the Monolith was around the same time when he was staying with Kid Geraint in his Nest at Black Lake.
