This article is a glossary of different terms used in Dragon Nest. Take note that this article only provides basic information about a particular term, and is not designed to give extensive details regarding in-game terminologies.

- AFK
- Acronym of "Away from keyboard". Used when a player is going to be away for long periods of time.
- Aggro
- Slang term for "Aggravation" or "Aggression". Mechanism that aids mobs into deciding which players to engage.
- Alt
- Alternate Character or Account.
- AoE
- Acronym of "Area of Effect". Term used to describe skills that affects multiple targets within a specified area[1].
- AW
- Abyss Walker; Expression of dismay or disappointment.
B
- Barb
- Barbarian.
- Boost
- Having other people assist you into achieving a task, particularly a higher-level character helping a low-level character reach a desired level. Those who help are called Boosters.
- BO / LBO
- "Best Offer" / "Leave Best Offer". Used whenever sellers want potential buyers with the "best" offers.
- BRB
- "Be right back". Used when a player is going to be away for a short amount of time.
- BT
- Beyond Time
- BWP
- Blue Wind Plains (Level 80 Dungeon)
C
- Cap
- Primarily defined as "level cap" (The maximum number of levels a player can achieve). May also refer to the limit to a rating (such as Critical).
- CC
- Cherry Credits, the former publisher of Dragon Nest SEA; Virtual credit used for acquiring EYET.
- or
- Change Character.

- Change Channel / Current Channel.
- CD
- Cooldown; Signal used in party whenever a certain skill is on Cooldown.
- Clean
- Equipment with no enhance value. Only used by traders.

- Colosseum
- Comp
- "Compensation", a mode where equipment stats are ignored and character stats are adjusted by the game automatically (Also known as Balance in other servers).

- Critical damage
- CT
- Cocktail

- DA
- Divine Avatar; Dark Avenger.
- DC
- Disconnection / Disconnected.
- DDL
- Daidalos Nest (Level 90)
- DDN
- Desert Dragon Nest (Level 90)
- Def
- Defense stat.
- DM
- Direct Message. Commonly used by Discord users.
- DNP
- Dragon Nest Points. An alternate currency to EYET/EYEC and Gold that allows players to purchase Cash Items or trade on Trading House.
- Drops
- Term used to denote items dropped from monsters.
- DTMI
- Dark Tower Magic Institute (Level 16 Dungeon).
- DZ
- Distorted Zone (Merca's Heart - Distorted Zone (Level 90) / Rhadames - Distorted Zone (Level 93)).
E
- ECJ
- Elemental Conversion Dragon Jades. Dragon Jades which change the base element of the wearer's attacks and skills to the desired attribute.
- EYET / ET
- "EYE Total". Cash currency used in Cash Shop. Obtained via Cherry Credits.
- EYEC / EC
- "EYE Cash". Cash currency used in Cash Shop. Obtained via PayPal.

- Farming
- Activity in which Players grind to obtain large amounts of in-game currency or items; Secondary skill that involves cultivating crops that can be prepared to produce consumable items.
- FD
- Final Damage.
- FDR
- Flooded Downstream Ruins (Level 24 Dungeon)
G
- G
- Gold.
- GDN
- Green Dragon Nest (Level 95).
- GGN
- Grievous Guardian Nest (Level 95).
- Glad
- Gladiator.
- GM
- Game Master/Moderator. Part of the staff of a game, tasked with implementing in-game rules and regulations and the implementations of selected in-game events. (Not to be confused with Game Developers)
- or
- Gear Master.

- Guild Master.

- Golden Meadow (Level 60 Dungeon)
- Grind
- Engaging in repetitive tasks with the purpose to upgrade or advance the level of a character[2]. Those who engage in this action are said to be grinding.
- Guild
- A group of up to 200 players who are represented by a name and an emblem.
H
- HBF
- Hero's Battlefield.
- HC
- Hardcore, as in the difficulty used in Nests and Raids.
- Hack / Hax
- Illegal reverse engineering, enhancement, or augmentation through exposing and altering the code of a software.
- Hell
- Hell Mode, as in the difficulty used in Nests.
I
- I-Frame / iframe
- Invincibility/Invulnerability Frame (Period of time measured in animation frames during which a character becomes immune to attacks. Displayed by a white glow around the Character).
- Inqui
- Inquisitor.
J
- Jade
- Dragon Jades.
- Jelly
- Item Protection Magic Jelly.
K
- Kang'd/Kanged[3]
- A parody of TV show Punk'd, using the last name of of the Cherry Credits founder and previous CEO Addison Kang.
- A combination of the words "Kang", from Addison Kang, and "trolled".
- Key
- Key of Dimensional Box (Used for unlocking Dimensional Chests in Abyss mode dungeons).
- kg
- Kilo gold, i.e. thousand of gold. 1 kg = 1,000 gold.
- Kick
- To remove a player from a party, a guild or a PvP match room, usually without the player's consent.
- KoF
- Kill or Fall (Colosseum game mode).
L
- L / L-Grade
- Legendary Grade Item/Equipment
- Lag/Lagged
- Expressed when experiencing latency issues. Can also be expressed to call out a "Loader" (see below).
- Leaver
- A player who leaves in the middle of a dungeon or nest run or in the middle of a PvP match.
- LF
- "Looking for". "LFP" (looking for party), "LFM" (looking for members) and "LFG" (looking for guild). Can also be used by itself i.e. LF> something.
- or
- Light Fury.
- LBN
- Primarily used for asking for a complete Limit Break Nest (Level 95) run. Can be used for incomplete Limit Break Nest (Level 95) runs.
- Limit
- Referred to as a player who has reached the maximum limit (or number of runs) for that particular nest or dungeon.
- Loader
- A derogatory term used for "lagged" players (see above) or players with long loading times.
- or
- A player who frequently purchases game credits (aka "load") and uses it to buy Cash Items.
- Log
- Misspelling of "Lag" (see above).
- Loli
- A usually affectionate term used to refer to Academics, derived from the term used to call young girls in Japanese anime/manga culture.
- Lowbie
- A low-level character, or a character which has a lower-than-average level in a party.
M
- Magni
- Magnifying Glass (Cash Item; allows players to see what is inside a reward chest (upon clearing a dungeon) when used)
- Main
- A character that a player spends the most time and resources on. See also "Alt".
- Manti
- Manticore Nest (Level 90).
- Mat/s
- Materials (Items that are required in the production of other items)
- Merc
- Mercenary.
- Miniboss
- Monsters which are considerably stronger than that of normal monsters in a dungeon, but are weaker than that dungeon's boss. They mostly appear on dungeons of Abyss diifculty.
- Mino
- Minotaur Nest (Level 24).
- ML
- Moonlord.
- Mob
- A group of NPCs that are aggressive towards the player. Is often used to describe all aggressive NPCs in general.
- MN
- Mist Nest (Level 95).
- Mod
- Provides cosmetic changes for characters, outfits, weapons, skills, pets and map areas as well as audio for voices, sound effects and background music.
- (Note: Some mods are considered illegal. Use at your own discretion.)
N
- Nerf
- Term used to describe an item, a skill or a monster that underwent changes that made it less powerful or effective in combat.
- Newbie
- Slang term for beginners. Not to be confused with noob (see below).
- NONR
- "No Offer, No Reply"
- Noob
- Slang term for inexperienced players; Used as insult for lowly geared players.

- OP
- (in-game) Overpowered; (forums) Original Poster
P
- Pally/Pala
- Paladin.
- Party
- A group of up to four players (or up to eight players in a Raid Party) who enters a dungeon in a single instance.
- PKN
- Professor K Nest (Level 90).
- PM
- Private Message. A message that is directly sent by a player to another without being shown in public display.
- or
- Project Manager Tasha of Eyedentity Games.
- Pot(s)
- Potion(s).
- Pro
- A player that excels on a certain task.
- Pub
- Abbreviations of "Public". Often used to denote that a party is not made up of members of a single guild or friends.
- PvE
- Player versus Environment. A scenario that pits a player against the environment of the game itself, particularly entities summoned by the computer. Compare with PvP.
- PvP
- Player versus Player. Type of combat that involves a player fighting against other players.
R
- Raid Party
- A party composed of up to 8 members. Can only be organised in Dragon Raids (e.g. Ice Dragon Nest, Rune Dragon Nest).
- RB
- Re-Buff. Signals other players to re-apply buffs.
- Reset
- Refers to the process of reverting one's learned skills to reallocate them. Performed by using Skill Initialization Scrolls.

- The resetting of Entry Limits to Nests and Raids, happens every Saturday morning at 9:00 AM UTC+8.
- Not to be confused with FTG/Event Timer reset every 9:00 AM UTC+8.
- Resu
- Resurrection. Often typed when a character is fallen from battle in a party, requesting any surviving party members to use ones Resurrection Scrolls. Alternatively, also used to ask the party member who died to resurrect.
- RH
- Returned Hero.
- Roll
- Refers to rolling for items during a dungeon run.
- RR
- Riverwort Village Ruins (Level 40 Dungeon).
- Run
- A term to describe the action of entering and successfully beating a dungeon.
- Runner
- A derogatory term used for players who refuse to approach an enemy and employs hit-and-run tactics during a PvP match.
- Rush
- Pertains to the urgency of a player in doing something, for example in selling an item or recruiting party members. Is often typed in ALL CAPS for emphasis.
- RW
- Red Waste (Level 90 Dungeon).
S
- SA
- Super Armor. An additional layer of defense of a player that when depleted stuns the player.
- SB
- Spirit Boost.
- or
- May also be referred as Soft Ban.
- or
- Sting Breezer.
- SDN
- Sea Dragon Nest.
- SEA
- South East Asia.
- SH
- Saint Haven. One of the most populated towns in Lagendia as a zone for players from Levels 24 to 60. May also refer to the Paladin skill Sacred Hammering.

- Silver Hunter.
- Slayer
- Slayer Mode.
- Softban
- An agreed-upon set of skills that would not be allowed to be used in a PvP match to allow fairer conditions for both players.
- SS
- Shooting Star.

- Stomp nest
- Often used for Volcano Nest and Volcano Ordeal Nest, or any nest past Desert Dragon Nest which are notorious for having several non-iframe-able stomp mechanics. Can be used in general for any nest that appears difficult only because of excessive usage of nest mechanics.
T
- TA
- Tracking Arrows. A Bow Master skill that fires a volley of arrows that home in on nearby enemies.
- TH
- Trading House.
- TH Limit / TH: (x Limit)
- Displayed in Item Description. Indicates how many times an item can be traded via Trading House.
- TKN
- Typhoon Kim Nest (Level 90).
- Tuhao
- A derogatory term used for players who spend ludicrous amounts of money on virtual items. Originated from Chinese, and can be translated as "nouveau-riche" in English. (Also see "Whale")
- TW
- Trade Warranty. Cash Item. Consume to add 1 TH Limit to a Cash item. Does not apply to all Cash items.
U
- U / U-Grade
- Unique Grade Item/Equipment
- Ult / Ulti
- Ultimate. Refers to the ultimate skill of a particular class.
V
- VN
- Volcano Nest.
W
- Whale
- A derogatory term used for players who spend ludicrous amounts of money on virtual items. (Also see "Tuhao")
- Wew/w3w
- A corruption of "wew"[4]. Derogatory term used to name players with a negative behavior. It is also used as a placeholder for just any expression. Originally derived from the onomatopoeia of a person sighing (which in this sense is sighing in disappointment).
X
- xsend
- Abbreviation of "wrong send". Typed in response to a message sent to the wrong person.
Y
- YOLO
- Abbreviation of "you only live once". It denotes a sense of stubbornness despite high risks. It is often used by players who attempt to enhance equipment above +10, or as a term (a "YOLO run") for a run organized as a crash course on nest mechanics.
